My experience being with the Youth Global Perspectives have been Spectacular really! I saw a lot of new things and also learned a lot of things I wouldn’t learn at school. Today we went to the Center For Civil And Human Rights Museum and I learned new things I didn’t know my culture had went through, I felt emotions I never thought I would feel by just hearing/learning more about my culture. Also today coming to Spelman showed me opportunity’s outside of my town.

“The first 2 days where great, Even the bus ride was great. We got to play big booty (we had to remember our number and call on someone else’s number while staying on beat)and tell scary stories. On the next day, it was really interesting as to how we got to learn about our heritage at the civil and human rights museum, like how you wouldn't in school. When we went to the museum we got to kind of experience holding down our ground at those diners to the haters that said they where going to like stab us and stuff (simulation of a sit in in the 1960’s). Like it felt real and it was an interesting experience 10 out of 10 would do again. Plus it was interesting how we got to learn about Morehouse hbcu and the people that helped bring that college together if it was my type of college I would go there but I got another one on my mind. This Trip is an amazing experience I've never gotten to do something like this when this one ends I can't wait for the next one.”

“Before I even came on this trip I knew the experience would be wonderful. The only thing I was hesitant about was the long driving, which in the end wasn’t even as bad as I thought. When we did the activities and bonded with each other it made the time pass by faster. Something I was excited about was visiting the different colleges. I didn’t even think about meeting people just like me. There was literally people who had the same goofy and open personality as me. I not only made new friends with the YGP group, but I made friends at spelman as well. Overall even though we are on day two I definitely don’t want to go home. I look forward to sharing this experience with my family and friends from home and hopefully they will get to experience the same way I did. I wish I would have known about this sooner because it’s an absolutely a great opportunity to plan your future better and making new friends.”
